Tara Martin-Milius has been active in Sunnyvale as a business owner, a neighborhood leader, a teacher, and a city commissioner.
Her priority issues are fiscal responsibility, completing the Downtown building plan, and public safety.
Tara Martin-Milius began working in the high-tech industry while attending college. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in business and Masters in organization development.
After working in semiconductor companies at various levels of management, Tara formed her own business, teaching and consulting with non-profit, government and corporate clients.
Tara Martin-Milius focused her company around training and facilitation, management change and communication. She has continued teaching regularly at UCSC Extension and working with existing clients.
For the last decade, Tara has been an active leader for an ethnically diverse neighborhood in Sunnyvale. She has chaired the San Miguel Neighbors Association and has served as liaison with the City on numerous community issues.
She has also successfully completed a term on the Sunnyvale Arts Commission, which brought to the forefront her desire to run for City Council.
Growing up in an Air Force family, she had the fortune to live in diverse communities as her dad was transferred around the South Pacific. Her family returned to California where she completed her education. She has lived in Sunnyvale for more than 30 years.
